Elizabeth C Inglis Pollock had been a co-opted member of the Housewifery Committee since December 1917 and then served on the Board of Governors from 1939 to 1950. When she resigned from active participation in College affairs she presented £150 to be invested and used as a fund to augment the library collections. Each year books were specially chosen by members of staff from each department in turn and purchased from the fund.
Margaret De Courcy Lethwaite Dewar (1978-1979) was a Glasgow artist who was a comptent draughtswoman and excelled in metalwork, particularly in the 'Glasgow Style'. She created both ornamental and useful objects, including these bookplates designed for the College Library.
